Update and Name change!

Hi everyone! Sorry for not being around much these days. I recently got a new job so i've been kind busy. Luckily, though, this means i'll be able to buy more stuff to review and show to you guys! c: I promise i'll be more active when i get more things. I'm going to try to post random stuff just to keep this baby alive.

I've also changed my Internet name from Marzipan Meow to Atomic Rae. I like it better and it has part of my real name in it, so i feel like it's being truer to myself for you guys. c:

Anyway, i have to go get ready for work now. See you babies, soon!

Review: Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara

Hi sweeties! Today i'll be reviewing four makeup products that i use often. I'm starting with Clinique's High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara!

I apologize in advance for the really poopy photos. The lighting in this room is awful in the evening and i just now found time to review.

here's the company's photo.

here's my awful photos. xD

no mascara.

with mascara.

Price: ♡♡♡

It cost $19.50 plus shipping or tax if you buy it from a store. Luckily, i got it as a gift but unfortunately for me, $20 for mascara just hurts my wallet way too much. I give one out of five hearts.

Packaging: ♥♥♥

I really like the tube. It's a sleek silver and it's very shiny. I love shiny things. x3 The letters are in white, so they're kind of hard to read against the shiny silver. It would better if they would've put it in a different color. The wand and the tube are both very chunky, which i like in mascara packaging. The wand's bristles are about average size and in the classic shape.

Product Quality: ♥♥♥

I LOVE this stuff! It makes my eyelashes so big and pretty! The only problem i have with it the mascara is very messy. It gets all over you if you're not careful. Other than that, this mascara is perfect if you want bigger, fuller lashes.

Overall: ♥♥♥

I give it five hearts! This mascara makes me very happy and one i start to make more money, i will more than likely switch to make it my main mascara.

Love,

Marzipan

Review: Le Kair Cholesterol Conditioning Cream

Hi sweeties! Today, i'll be reviewing Le Kair Cholesterol Plus Strengthening & Conditioning Cream. I've been using this product for about two years on and off but i've been using it nonstop for six months. I love it!

Price: ♥♥♥♥

A jar of costs $2.00, including tax. Such a great price!

Packaging: ♥♡♡♡♡

It's a very mediocre packaging but the letters a big and pretty. I do like the packaging they used to have a lot more than the newer version.

Product Quality: ♥♥♥

This stuff is AMAZING! It makes my hair soo soft and easy to detangle. It also makes it easier to style. I've noticed since using it almost everyday for the past 6 months, my hair has been healthier and has started growing faster. I love the color of it! The only real problems i have with the product is that it feels like silly putty and it smells like hotel conditioner. However, those problems are not so big that i would stop using the product.

Overall: ♥♥♥

I give the product five stars! I'm very glad i started using this product and will continue to use it for many more months. I would definitely recommend it to as friend who has damaged hair or just wants softer, more manageable hair. It is one of my favorite hair care products i've ever used.

Review: Milanno Wig

For Christmas, my fiancĂ© and I bought each other wigs! We got on Milanoo.com December 23rd and sent in our order exactly at midnight.
We finally got our wigs... 3 weeks later. Now, i understand it was Christmas when we ordered and there was a 2 day snow delay for FedEx in my state when the package was supposed to arrive. I get that. However, we ordered the express shipping and it took much longer to arrive than what we paid for. When our package finally got to us, i so excited i didn't even care about the late arrival. I was just happy to get my wig. We rushed to our bedroom and violently tour open our package. We were like little kids full of excitement to get our late Christmas gifts.

Only... it was was package full of jackets and 2 shirts in the package, not the wigs. To make matters worse, It was for a guy in Mexico, so you know they didn't bother checking the package before slapping the shipping label on there.  ;___; I started crying and Blayne sat in angry silence with his arm around me. (i was pregnant at the time, if you're wondering about the crying. xD) I got online the next day and complained to Milanoo. They got back to me the day after and we worked out the problem. Apparently FedEx caused the shipping error.

We got the keep the jackets and the finally sent us our wigs. phew! I'll be doing a review on my wig today.

I ordered the Pink 80cm Volcaloid Lika Nylon Cosplay wig. Here the link to the website: Wig link

product picture.

Picture on the model.

Picture on me.

As you can see, it wasn't exactly like on the website. I still love it, though. c:

More pictures!

Price: ♥♥♥♥♥

We payed $24 plus $15 shipping and handling for it.

Packaging: ♥♡♡♡♡

It came in a a big FedEx page with 2 smalled Milanoo bags which contained with wigs. The reasons this got a heart is because they sent us two very cute Milanoo buttons. :3 I'm a sucker for adorable freebes!

Product Quality: ♥♥♥♡♡

After seeing the price and the fact is made of nylon, it should go without saying that is a generally low quality wig. The wig is very shiny in direct lighting and it tangled very easily. It feels kind of like oily plastic and the bags never want to go on the side they're supposed to. Which is why i where it with a hair accessory to keep it in place.

Shipping: ♡♡♡♡♡

If you read the story above, you know why this has no heart. ;___; After reading other reviews, i discovered this happens a lot with Milanoo customers. They suck with shipping.

Customer Service: ♥♥♥♥♥

They were very kind when i explained there error and not only gave me a bunch of options for them to correct it, but they corrected the error quickly. I was actually surprised because i didn't expect it to go this smoothly. I'm very satisfied with their customer service.

Overall: ♥♥♥♡♡

I give Milanoo three out of four stars. Although there was a shipping error and the wig wasn't 100% like the picture, i'm still very satisfied with the product and i'll possibly shop there again.

Marzipan

Hair Roller Results + Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse review (pic heavy)

This morning, i took my hair down and i was so satisfied with  the results! My hair wasn't totally curl, it was wavy as most. Which is exactly what i was hoping for. c:

Here are the results:

I used Garnier Fructis Cult Construct Mousse extra strong when i rolled my hair. I've used mousse before, but not by Garnier.

Price: ♥♥♥♥♥
It's super adorable! I got it a Dollar General for $3.56

Packaging: ♥♥♥♥♥
It comes in a shiny, tall, neon green can and the words are in attractive fonts and color. Every appealing to the brain. The nozzle on the top makes it really easy to get the mousse out of the can, plus it matches the can.

Product Quality: ♥♥♥♡♡
It was extremely sticky when i was applying it, stickier than some of the other one's i've used. It actually held really well until i want outside. Most of my hair fell flat, expect the places where i applied it the most. But was 7 am when i went outside and the humidity is already at 74%. I probably didn't apply enough product for it to outlast the humidity for today. I'm also not too found of the small. Usually Garnier's products smell better.

Overall: ♥♥♥♥♡
I really like this product and i'll continue to use it. I would recommend this product to a friend. It's defiantly great for only costing about $4.

Using Hair Rollers for the first time.

My grandmother gave me a ton of brand new hair rollers that she never used, so i decide to roll my hair for the first time tonight! After taking a shower and washing my hair real good, i sat at my vanity for about thirty minuets, bathed my hair and muse then rolled it up and then threw a hair cap over it. xD i feel so aged! I even put on a face mask to make it more realistic. (i was going for the 50's house wife look.)

Anyway, i'll post picture tomorrow about how it turned it. c: If it goes good, this might become a regular thing!

Here are some horrible pictures i took right when i finished. x3

Flea Market Dreaming

This post is more for to brainstorm my goals about my flea market idea and read them back just to kinda see where i'm at on this. I'd love opinions, thought!

My dream is to open a clothing boutique that sells kawaii and grunge fashion and accessories. Unfortunately, i wasn't born into a wealthy family and i've only had to jobs in my life making chump change. :'c So my funds are extremely limited and i have to put my dreams on hold. -sigh- It's quit heartbreaking but i know as long as i'm patient and persistent, this will happen for me.

One thing i've been thinking about for years is opening a booth at a flea market. It'll be a way for me to sell my products and save up to one day buy my own building. c: I've thought about selling online but i enjoy seeing my customers in person. I've learned this from working at JCPenney, haha. I'm thinking of partnering up with my friend Samantha to run the booth with me. This will not only help me learn more about partnerships but also help me learn more about the teamwork of business. Plus, creating this business partnership may be helpful for both of us in the future.

Of course, i need to stop day dreaming about the ideas and actually scout for a flea market and talk to the owners about a booth. I also have to see about the permits needed to sell. Since it's spring going into Summer here in America, there'll be bigger traffic in the markets. Since i'm almost 100% positive no one else sells my ideal products but i know there's a market for them, i feel like this would be a pretty good investment. Since it's a low cost start up, there isn't an dangerously huge risk as buying a building would be. It'll help me see what owning a small business is like.

Aside from daydreaming about what our booth will look like, i've been studying Entrepreneur and Business websites all day. I feel it's necessary to educate myself on these topics to help me understand about being a business owner. If i get as much information as i can, I can drastically limit the amount of surprises in the future and better address the situations when surprises come up. It'll give me better expectations and help me better plan the foundation for my store. I don't mind reading a lot, though. I love to learn! I actually never had an interest in economics or finance until I discovered my dream. Now, i'm incredibly interested in them because they're very important in starting and running a business.

Enough grown-up talk. Let's get to the fun stuff! I know it sounds like kawaii/grunge isn't exactly the greatest combination, but i believe this could work. I already know there's a kawaii scene and a grunge scene in my city, so i have my target audience. Yes, these are just trends and will probably fade away over the next few years. That's okay with me. I can adjust the products as newer ones become "trendy." As long as i have alternative people searching for clothes, i'll be able to sell! Plus, if this truly works out, i'll have chances to expand geographically.

Kawaii grunge. hmm. How to that work? Well, one side of the store/boot will decorated really cute and will sell the cute clothes, shoes, maybe food. The other side will be dark and will sell the grunge stuff, including posters and other music related items. That way, it's a lot easier for the customers who are looking for the specific style can find what they're looking for. I think it's going to be lovely. The kawaii side will feature a lot of fairy kei and pastel goth inspired fashions. The grunge will feature the typical grunge products as well as soft grunge products. I'm getting exited just picturing it!

My head is swimming from the idea flow here, so i'm going to go to bed now. Thank you for reading and if you give me feedback. It helps to hear how people respond to my ideas.

Love,

Kittie

Appreciation Post: Mila Mortice

Okay, before everyone starts freaking out and getting on the "ZOMG sh3's just a Felice Fawn c0py c@t!" bandwagon, you should know that i really don't care. c:

yes, i'm well aware that she posted a lot of things that were exactly like Felice. However, i'm also aware that Felice didn't invent her clothing style, makeup, hair, poses, etc. Which is why i don't shame Mila like the rest of the world. If anything, she did Felice Fawn better than Felice Fawn.

I think Mila is absolutely adorable! Sure, she shopped a lot of her photos. At least she has the balls to admit to unlike some people. *cough cough*

This is my favorite picture of her. It's so pretty and once my hair gets long enough, i plan on wearing it like this often. it's just so cute. i wish she'd be more active online. i want to see new posts of her. ^.^

Thank you, Mila, for existing! i fangirl so hard over you. c':

Review: New York Color Liquid Eyeliner

When i first seen New York Color's liquid eyeliner in the makeup aisle, i was a little skeptical because i HATE spending a ton of money of makeup products that don't work and the cheapo stuff usually doesn't work. For $3, i thought "what the hell? might as well try it" I'm so glad i did! c:

It comes in this tube and has a brush applicator. I got #888, Pearlized Black. Although i don't usually get eyeliner with sparkles in it because it irritates my eyelids, the sparkles in this liner doesn't seem to bother them. This was the first brush liner i've ever used, so i'm still kind of clumsy with it. I absolutely love the color, though! It makes doing cat eyeliner a hell of a lot easier.

As far as long wear goes, it does last a while. I applied it around noon Sunday to go to my family's Easter get together then went to the river with some friends and then to the park. I didn't get home until about 9 pm and i still had intense color. The pollen was messing with my allergies and i had a small cold, so my eyes where pretty watery but even after rubbing them, the liner didn't really smudge or anything. I'm very satisfied with how long it lasts! The formula is kind of creamy, which is another thing i'm not used to. But it dried pretty fast, so i'm not too worried about. I actually like the way it feels on my eyelids.

i would defiantly recommend this to a friend, especially at such a low price.

Here are a few pictures i took while wearing yesterday. My nose it a little swollen from this stupid cold. >.<

Kittie.

Back to sewing basics

Last night, after looking at Bodyline Lolita products, i started remembering all those days of trying to my own dresses. Oh, i missed everything from the feel the fabrics to the hum of my sewing machine. I decided i want to feel all those thing again and i want to re-learn sewing!

I say "re-learn" because last May, i took a hiatus from crafts all together because i wanted to pursue other interests. The little make-shift craft area i created in my garage remained untouched until about three weeks ago when my family and i moved to our new house. I already have a place picked out in my new garage to recreate a little craft again, but my table is currently being used as TV stand. bleh.

This morning, i took an old sheet and my sewing box and sat down in my den floor. After reorganizing my sewing box, (i tend to organize and reorganize it a lot) i laid the old sheet out and began to cut it.

 oh my, what a nightmare.

I completely forgot all the tips i already learned about cutting fabric, so i failed horribly. Since i was only cutting out a little bit of fabric so i could practice sewing, i didn't really stress too much. It still bothers me that i'm cutting this bad after 11 months of not cutting. On top of that, when i started running the needle through my fabric, i was sewing an overlay stitch when i wanted a running stitch. I wanted to give up and just go lay down, but i didn't because i really want to start sewing again and being making my own clothes and costumes.

So i logged onto Youtube and various sewing/craft sites and i began to relearn everything i've forgotten. At least i've gotten the basics of the basics out of the way!

Here's a basic stitch from my first time sewing in 11 months:

\
It may be ugly, uneven, and all around crappy but i still love it. I've missed sewing so much! After an hour of cramming basic sewing knowledge into my brain then diving right in, i think i did an okay job. which is fine by me!

I'm going to keep this little piece of fabric so it can remind me of my love for sewing whenever i get discouraged and want to quit.

Kittie

Down with Masculinist! (a long rant about stupid boys)

For those who don't know what a Masculinist is, Masculism or masculinism is the modern movement which aims to promote and restore classical masculine virtues among men in Western societies after the sexual revolutions of the latter half of the 20th century.

That is Wikipedia's definition.

I, however, prefer Urban Dictionary's 2nd definition: "A "Masculinist" is a "Men's Rights Activist". No seriously. There are actually people who are so stupid they think that men are oppressed anywhere in the world. Just sit and think about the laughably small brain it takes to be an masculinist. While research on the feeding habits of masculinists is limited, feminists tend to speculate that they were fed paint in lieu of breast milk as a child. This would explain the intense mental retardation they have as adults. Feminist scholars also have concluded that masculinists are actually crab people who intend to shove women back into slavery (you might not notice too much of a difference), and then kill all the men and rule the earth themselves. It is thus suggested that you throw all masculinists on a grill and fry them to death. Do not eat them; the masculinist carries many fatal illnesses such as stupid, herpes, and Feline AIDS (they are known to fuck their cats, just like New Agers!)"

Okay so maybe the one is a little "offensive" to masculinists. I do feel they deserve it, though. Seriously, name one place on his planet that men don't have the final word on anything. Well, besides lesbian bars and feminists rallies. but they don't belong in those places, anyway, so it's no wonder at those places. They still try to dictate them, though.

The reason why America and Europe are the way they are today is because society started to realize that the way men were treating women was ridiculously unethical. Why would society want to take a step backwards just so Richard can tell Sarah to make him a sandwich and she really has no choice but to obey otherwise he has the right to hit her? FUCK. THAT. It's 2014, not 1954. Make your own damn sandwich, Richard.

Most of the so called "masculinists" are teenage boys who think it's cool to act like it's 1954 when it comes to woman's rights. They sit on meme pages and wait for admins to post a picture like so:

see how the mother and daughter are in the right corner doing dishes?

Their response to this picture is usually along the lines of "the women are in the kitchen where they belong! hell yeah!" or "uh-oh! here come the feminists! watch out, everyone." How sad.

It's like we aren't even allowed to defend ourselves against they're brainless comments without being labeled a feminists or getting a speech about a "woman's place." yet when we make such comments about them, we
are being "totally ridiculous" and we need to "stop being so sensitive." My favorite it the whole "how is it equality if we don't treat you the same?" argument.

For example, this picture was recently posted on a meme page i follow on Facebook. Of course, it had all the above comments and then some. Pictures like this don't really bother me because it was a different time and humanity has (somewhat) evolved past this type of thing. So being the good natured gal i am, i decided to post a joking comment on the picture.

I posted, "Well, of course the men aren't in the kitchen doing dishes! Have you seen a man try to make a sandwich? what a disaster, haha." i got called a feminists, a stupid bitch, and retarded for making that comment. :I WHAT HAPPENED TO EQUALITY, MEN?

It just bothers me that i'm not allowed  to even joke about these things online without getting bitched at by a teenage boy who thinks he owns the world and has probably never even been with a female. This is why i prefer to hang with an older crowd.

Yes, i know there are older Masculinists. However, they aren't half as annoying as the teenage ones are. Plus some of them have very valid points. But overall, they're still pretty wrong. In my opinion, anyway.

Here, have a nice commercial. This is an example for what Masculinists are "fighting" for.

Here's a really cute picture to end this post!

Kittie.

Hi everyone!

Hello, my name is Kittie Roulette. I'm an amateur model, an amateur Burlesque performer, a DIYer, a blogger, a mommy, and a future wifey!

I made this blog mainly so my fans could better connect to me and so i could post text product reviews to go along with my video reviews. (hey, some people like them better than videos!) it's also a way for me to vent my frustrations of everyday and just let everyone knows currently going on with me.

What is a Dope Calypso, you ask? it's a song by Violent Soho. oh, how i love them! you should go check them out if you bands like Nirvana or Middle Class Rut.

any who, some more info about Kittie!

I'm eighteen-years-old. I'm currenlty working at McDonald's. don't judge, i have a baby and my hobbies don't pay! (yet, haha.) i'm from Alabama, but i plan to move to either New Orleans, LA or Las Vegas, NV if i ever get the money and the chance. My finance is a guitarist. i love him very much!

I have a couple of dreams. one if for my husband and me to make enough money have to provide a stable lifestyle for our son. one is to become a well-known name in the Burlesque World. one is to own my own clothing boutique. my last one is to make the cover of at least one magazine.

I'm not sure what else to say. so feel free to ask me anything!

Love,

Kittie.
